Brian Kelley Signs With Big Machine Label Group

06/18/2022

The beach cowboy has officially signed his first record deal as a solo artist. For nearly a decade, Brian Kelley, along with Tyler Hubbard, have been a part of the country music duo Florida Georgia Line. Their stage name was inspired by BK’s home state of Florida and Tyler’s home state of Georgia.

Yet back in January of 2021, the duo posted a video on social media explaining that they would be taking time apart in order to begin separate journeys as solo artists. Fast forward to April of that year, and BK is dropping his first-ever solo EP titled BK’s Wave Pack, which consisted of four songs. And in June, those four songs ended up being a part of his 16-track debut album titled Sunshine State Of Mind. BK also co-wrote all 16 of the songs on the album and truly dove deep into his Flordia background, giving listeners loads of beach vibes and a southern feeling.

In April of 2022, just around a year after the release of his EP, BK announced a 12-show Made By The Water Tour with special guest The Boat Boys. In addition, a week later he released a brand new song called “Whatever Floats Your Boat,” which featured The Boat Boys. In June of 2022, news broke that BK would be returning to Big Machine Label Group, the same record label that he was formerly on when he was a part of FGL. Although this time, BK is returning as a solo artist as he states “this isn't just a new chapter, it's a whole new book!” Along with this news, it was also revealed that his first release with the label will be a song called “American Spirit” and it will be released on July 1st (7/1/22).
