Luke Combs Releases Third Studio Album: Growin' Up
Luke Combs has finally released his long-awaited album titled Growin' Up. This album consists of 12 songs and all of which were co-written by Luke. Other writers on the album include Drew Parker, Robert Williford, Jonathan Singleton, Randy Montana, Dan Isbell, Jamie Davis, Reid Isbell, James McNair, Thomas Archer, Miranda lambert, Deric Ruttan, Ray Fulcher, Dean Dillon, and Shane Minor. The album even includes one feature, which is a duet with Miranda Lambert. Upon release, Growin' Up reached #1 on the iTunes All Genres Chart.
Now let's talk tracklist. To say the least, Luke along with all the writers, did an incredible job of crafting the lyrics. Whether the songs were based on true events or not, every song told a good story that surely enough many people can relate to. Like typical country music, you can find songs about break-ups, love, fishing, drinking, and more. Luke also incorporated songs about his career with his number-one hit "Doin' This" and a song about the town he currently lives in called "Middle of Somewhere." Overall, the album not only has a good mix of tempos, but also a good mix of topics. Each song has its own personality. It's evident that he spent a lot of time making sure the album was just right.
Not to mention, the album title is quite appropriate considering he really has grown up and matured as an artist as it is his third studio album. When talking to Apple Music Luke states, "It's time to get it together at this point. It's like you're growing up into this. You're going from one thing to the next. I think, sonically, this album is a lot of that for me." -LC
Interestingly enough, the duet with Miranda Lambert was never planned. Instead, the plan was to simply get together with each other and write a good song. Thankfully, the song ended up being written and cut by both of them.
